Your stunning new Squarespace website is nearly ready to go live. Before you click “publish” and share it with the world, taking a few moments to review this final checklist will help ensure every detail is refined, professional, and fully optimized to attract your ideal clients.
Think of this as your final quality check before your website takes center stage.
Let’s make sure your launch is seamless.
Essential checks
✅ Confirm your #1 goal and call-to-action
What's the primary action you want visitors to take? (e.g., Book an Appointment, View Services, Contact Us). Is your main Call-to-Action (CTA) button for this goal clear, prominent, and working on key pages (especially your Homepage)?
✅ Branding is consistent and on-point
Is your logo uploaded correctly (high-quality, best version)? Are your brand colors, fonts, and overall style consistent across every single page? Does it truly feel like your brand?
✅ Proofread every single word!
Seriously! Typos, grammatical errors, or awkward sentences can undermine your professionalism. Read all text aloud – on your homepage, about page, service descriptions, contact info, everywhere! Tip: Ask a friend with fresh eyes to proofread your website and provide feedback.
✅ Image quality and alt text
Are all your photos high-quality, professional, and relevant to your brand? Have you added descriptive alt text to every important image (this is crucial for SEO and accessibility)? Are images optimized for fast loading?
✅ Menu accuracy
Is it easy for your visitors to understand your offerings and find what they're looking for in the menu/navigation? Make sure the menu is not overwhelming.
Technical checks
✅ Test all forms and links
This is critical! Personally fill out your contact form(s). Click every "Book Now" or scheduling link. Do forms submit correctly? Do confirmation emails arrive in the right inbox? Do booking links take users to the correct scheduling page (e.g., your Acuity page)? Test every pathway!
✅ Mobile and tablet views
View your entire website on your phone and a tablet. Then ask a friend to check on their devices. Is all text easily readable? Are buttons and links easy to tap without zooming? Is navigation smooth and intuitive on all screen sizes? Ensure visitors are having a positive experience while browsing on their phones or tablets.
✅ Foundational SEO check
Have you set your overall Site Title and SEO Description (SquareSpace Settings -> SEO)? Have you added unique SEO Titles and SEO Descriptions for your most important pages (Homepage, About, Services)?
✅ Connect your domain
Is your domain name (e.g., www.yourwebsite.com) properly connected to your SquareSpace site and set as the primary domain? This can take a few hours (sometimes up to 48 hours) to fully propagate after setup.
✅ Remove any “under construction” or placeholder content
Delete any leftover demo content, placeholder text ("lorem Ipsum"), sample images you don't intend to use, and most importantly, ensure the site-wide password is removed so your site is Public (SquareSpace Settings -> Site Availability).
